AS WELL AS BEING THE YEAR OF OUR 15TH BIRTHDAY, 2017 MARKS THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF GREEN MAN RISING: OUR ANNUAL SHOWDOWN BETWEEN THE BEST UNSIGNED ACTS IN THE UK.
This year’s six finalists, who each compete for the coveted opening slot on our revered Mountain Stage at Green Man 2017.
Siobhan Wilson, Keto, Bad Parents, Francobollo, Omaloma and SAP will throw down their musical gauntlets for their place on the Mountain Stage, which this year they’ll be sharing with the likes of PJ Harvey, Ryan Adams, Future Islands and The Shins.
The live final takes place on Wednesday 5 July at the Camden Assembly. Entry is totally FREE but you’ll need to sign up for tickets using the DICE – Just For You app – @/event/green-man-rising-2017-final-5th-jul-camden-assembly-london-tickets.
The finalists will be judged by a suitably esteemed panel of musos, featuring experts from Clash Magazine, BBC 6 Music, Domino Recording Company, Noisey, The Guardian, 4AD, CAA – Creative Artists Agency, London Evening Standard and (of course) Green Man Festival. With an eclectic roster of musical styles ranging from space pop to lo-fi folk, we’re certain that this year’s final is going to be one of the best yet.
Our Rising contestants never fail to astound us with their swoon-worthy talents, but 2017 took the competition to an insane new level! We had a record number of entries, and with so many skilled songsmiths on display, the task of whittling down the numbers to a core group finalists was painstakingly difficult.
