What Is It?

The play was written in the Apartheid era, as a form of Protest theatre, which was confrontational. It brought up the sensitive subjects of Apartheid, such as inequality. The play was written by Mbongeni Ngema, Barney Simon and Percy Mtwa. It touches on a lot of sensitive issues which need addressing. It portrays a time in South Africa where the only thing people could turn to was religion. Be sure to check out this show and learn more about the history of South Africa.
