ROBERTSON WINE ON THE RIVER 2016

The annual Wine on the River Festival is the ultimate spring festival, taking place in the splendour of Robertson wine valley, on the banks of the Breede River at the Goudmyn Riverside Farm in Robertson.

Wine tasting is the main attraction at this outdoor festival and visitors can look forward to more than 300 available wines from over 40 wineries  including Arabella, Asthon Kelder, Arendsig, Bon Courage, Bonnievale, Cloverfield, De Wetshof, Esona, Excelsior, Fraai Uitzicht, Goedverwacht, Graham Beck Wines, Klipdrift, Kleinhoekkloof, Mimosa, McGregor, Mooiuitsig, Quando, Rietvallei, Robertson Cellar, Rooiberg, Springfield, Van Loveren, Van Zylshof, Viljoensdrift, Wandsbeck, Weltevrede, Windfall Wines, Wonderfontein, Wolvendrift and Zandvliet.

In the Chardonnay Tent, you can experience tutored Chardonnay tastings for those who are interested in learning the right and wrong way to conduct wine tastings!

Wine will be sold on site and at cellar price.

In addition to the wines, there will also be cheese, olive, coffee, chocolate and nougat tastings. If you are still hungry, you can buy delicious country fare at the country food stalls, picnic along the river. Check out the Robertson Farmers Market or have a lazy lunch at the Riverside Restaurant.

There will be live jazz, ballads and blues on the day as well as an arts and crafts display and many people enjoy a leisurely river cruise along the Breede. If you are worried about missing out on the rugby, never fear! There will be a big screen rugby displayed throughout the weekend.

This is a child-friendly festival and kids can enjoy playing in the sandpit, horses, a colouring corner, a jungle gym, swings, face painting and a trampoline.

The festival will open at 12pm on Friday 14 October 2016 and run until 6pm Sunday 16 of October 2016.
